Salisbury, UK’s Carsick have announce their sophomore EP, Tough Luck, is set for release on the 5th September via Alcopop! Records. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Sam Winfield and Tom Millar at Newbury’s Studio 91, the new EP is the first collection of new material from the band since their warmly received debut EP, Drunk Hymns, in 2023. To celebrate the news Carsick have shared their new single, Backseat, which follows on from the nihilistic Pub Watch single that was released earlier this year.
“‘Backseat’ is a song about getting stuck in the loop of living for the weekend. British culture has always encouraged giving your entire week to work and then spending every last bit of your wage packet at the pub once Friday hits. It’s easy to put your life into autopilot and endlessly repeat that cycle without realising it’s become a downward spiral. Sounds bleak, but luckily we’ve condensed that existential crisis into a catchy summer banger for you. Just don’t worry about it!”

Carsick will be running the European festival gauntlet at Rag City Festival, Rebellion Festival, Boomtown Fair, Sziget Festival, Obstwiesen Festival, Getoese Festival and Gathering Sounds Fest and will be hitting the road in the UK this Winter with Pet Needs and Samantics.
