Influential band Deviates, once dubbed “the future of punk rock” and considered by many to be next in line to carry the punk torch held by fellow South Bay punks Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Descendents, Pennywise and more, will play their first headline show in over two decades on June 18th, at LA’s legendary Troubadour, a fitting location given that the band played its last show there before disbanding in 2002.

“Twenty years later, you think you’ll never do it again, but I honestly never stopped writing and never stopped documenting music — and it always ended up going back to punk rock. I was 16 when we started this and I’m 42 now, but there’s always been this common thread for Deviates, which is that we’ve always been representative of the crowd that we play in front of. Twenty years later the heart behind this hasn’t changed.” (vocalist Brian Barbera)

Tickets for the show, which also features special guests Authority Zero, Western Waste and Hoist The Colors, can be purchased here. Deviates’ latest album, Holding Out, was released in 2021 on Midline Records and marked the band’s first proper album of new material since 2001’s Time is the Distance, which was released on Epitaph Records.
