Formed in 2018 in Berlin, Germany, Hit The Dirt toured Germany and Czech Republic for the first time during the following year, and released their first self titled EP. Before the pandemic they toured Germany again and opened for bands like Sweden’s Misconduct and Russian folk-punk band Zuname. During the pandemic they wrote and recorded their following and upcoming release, Six Pack, an EP with 6 fast, melodic and heavily influenced by the 90s skate punk tunes. The EP will be released via High End Denim Records and are streaming the first single, Crash.
Crash is a song about the struggles of mental health, after going through a personal hard time in 2019. It’s about all the suffering hidden behind a smile, and also the hope and courage to get better with the help of your friends, family or professionals. Written before the pandemic but very well matching the world’s last two years with the virus. The accompanying video was filmed in Berlin’s Noisy Music Rooms in May 2022 by Paloosa Productions.
“Crash was the first song we wrote for the EP, around 1 year before we even got to work on the other songs, and we instantly knew it had to be the first single, since it had the big melodic chorus, combined with the 90s fast rhythms, and touching a very important topic as mental health is.”
The Six Pack EP will be released on the 12th August and you can now stream Crash and pre-order the EP via High End Denim Records.
