Sheer Terror Unleash “Squat Diddler” Single
On the eve on their May 2026 European Tour, NYC's SHEER TERROR have released their new single, Squat Diddler, that…
Girls Like Us are a four piece DIY punk band with heavy grungy and riot grrrl undertones who are presently part of the Inner Magic Recordings family. They spend most weekends on the road hitting pubs, clubs, and basements anywhere and everywhere they’re invited spreading their own brand of positive feminist and trans-friendly liberalism everywhere they go. Spoonfed is the band’s first official single since becoming a four-piece following lockdown in August of 2021. It is simultaneously their most balanced and unrestrained effort to date. Drawing on post-punk, the riot grrrl movement, and the heavy end of shoegaze this song charts a new direction for the band that still fits well into their 90’s revival aesthetics and ethos.

Born out of the existential angst of living in a Britain that just gets keeps getting more expensive and pushing a bigger rift between the social classes, Spoonfed is a rally anthem for the working class against accepting nepotism and generational wealth as reasons to be held back. Addressing the lower class struggle with the daily grind and old boy network handouts with lines like “We all know the law only applies to the poor, and that rich kids can pay their way through any locked door” Girls Like Us have taken a stand against the establishment that jumps well over the line into anarcho-punk territory. With blazing guitars reminiscent of Sonic Youth in the mid-80s and a drum and bass combo that would make Black Flag proud, the band have created something really different to any other recording you’ve heard by them.

Spoonfed is released today as a single via Spotify with an accompanying video to follow on YouTube before its general release, both on major platforms and as part of the Loud Women Vol. 5 compilation, on Friday 2nd December, with all proceeds from the compilation going to Musicians Defend Ukraine. In 2023 they are set to embark on a lot of three and four day weekenders and festivals supporting their upcoming split 7” record with Moron Butler.
