Worcester, MA’s Hedge have released Ice Rink, the second single from their upcoming EP, Freeze Frame High Five, that will be released on March 27th with vinyl pre-orders now available via Best Brother Records. Ice Rink wrestles with finding time to follow your passions while being swept up in the grind of working and adulthood. In under two minutes, Hedge blast through this bouncy pop-punk throwback with conviction that will make you hit pause at work and escape to the Ice Rink. Hedge will also be touring throughout New England between February and April.
“Ice Rink is an upbeat, sunny song that reminds me of some of my favorite 90s pop-punkers, like Sicko or Fastbacks. Beneath its cheer, though, is an attempt to contract the reality of work, sidelining our passions with a call to keep pursuing what brings us joy anyway. “Get out to the ice tonight” is essentially shorthand for doing and prioritizing whatever makes you happy despite the systemic limitations of capitalism.” (guitarist & vocalist Christopher Chaisson)
