Jonny & The Mental Breakdowns To Return With New Single ‘Turn Up The Stereo’
Turn Up The Stereo is the upcoming single from Jonny & The Mental Breakdowns, the announcement marks a year since front-man Jon Ellam suffered a serious stroke but thankfully doctors have been amazed at the speed of his almost miraculous recovery. The blood pressure alone should have killed him, but being the stubborn pain in the arse he his, Jon is now on the road to recovery. Jon’s stroke may have affected his speech and balance but it hasn’t affected the relentless and good humoured nature of his songwriting and he has been using the convalescence to pen several albums worth of material.
The bands return is an upbeat bombastic battle cry to Turn Up The The Stereo, the track anticipates the return to some kind or normality in the near future. Recorded and produced by the bands bassist Simon J. Turner it features the Sax and Trumpets of the Pape brothers from Karl Philips & The Rejects and Jonny & The Mental Breakdowns own drummer Scott Bickers let loose on lead guitar.
Turn Up The Stereo will be released on the 30th July via digital outlets including Bandcamp. Their new album, One Stroke Not Out, will be released later this year.
