Hull, UK’s Matt Edible & The Obtuse Angels have revealed their new single, Dog Dirt, that is taken from their upcoming album, The Optometrist, which will be released on 14th February via Inedible Records, with the band also revealing the artwork, tracklist, and pre-orders today. A current twist on a childish taunt, Dog Dirt‘s punchy guitars, catchy hooks and snarled vocals are straight out of the power pop playbook, a no-nonsense, melody driven three minute tantrum. Dog Dirt is a modern day anthem for anybody who’s sick of being lied to and gaslit by people who should know better.

“We’re increasingly living in a world where it seems to be commonplace that people with power and wealth can just lie and talk down to us. And somehow that’s become acceptable. I’ve not got a solution to this problem but I’ve got every right to moan about it. That’s what Dog Dirt is – a childish whinge about how rotten it is – ‘It’s not fair!'” (frontman Matt Edible)
