Newmoon announce ‘Head Of Stone’ single And Album Launch Date
Newmoon have announced the release of their new single, Head of Stone, This will be the first single to be lifted from their debut album, Space, which will be released this October. Taking their name from an Elliot Smith album and based in Antwerp and Ghent, the band members previously played in the much loved hardcore punk band Midnight Souls, now widely recognised as one of the country’s finest. Although the two projects may superficially appear polar opposites, hardcore is nothing if not a genre built purely on dynamics, something this quintet have a masterful grasp of.
Having toured all over Europe with bands such as Touché Amoré, Basement, Nothing and Cloakroom, Newmoon now return with Head of Stone, a song written on a Japanese bullet train, speeding between Tokyo and Kyoto. Newmoon have a strong DIY punk ethic, have all been friends since their mid-teens and have matching tattoos, they cite the likes The Jesus & Mary Chain, Slowdive and The Ramones as influences.
