PiL (Johnny Rotten) To Play Jimmy Kimmel

Public Image Ltd. (PiL), which features Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, have announced that their first television performance in 18 years will take place Wednesday, April 7 on Jimmy Kimmel Live Bud Light Golden Wheat Outdoor Stage. PiL’s last U.S. TV performance was in 1992 on ‘The Dennis Miller Show’ where the band played the song “Covered” live in the studio.

This news follows the band’s recently announced North American headlining tour, which gets underway April 17 in San Francisco and now includes three newly added tour dates: April 28 at Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, MI; April 30 at Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee, WI; and May 16 at Pearl Street in Northampton, MA. 2010 sees the 30th anniversary of the band’s first U.S. tour and also their U.S TV debut on “American Bandstand,” where singer Johnny Rotten invited the audience onstage to dance with the band.
