Ode to Naboo is the lead single off the upcoming self titled album by The Gungans. As before, it’s a celebration of all things 90’s pop punk, complete with a Jar Jar Binks themed parody of a classic Lookout! Records release. This time Squirtgun’s self-titled 1995 debut LP gets the treatment. The Gungans started as a funny and positive way to counteract the dread and anxiety that gripped us all when the pandemic started. Two years and three albums later it’s still going, and so The Gungans must continue marching onwards to provide a resource for smiles at a time when there are few to go around. It helps that Grim Deeds (creator and sole member of The Gungans) is an obsessive pop punk nerd and Jar Jar Binks enthusiast.

Laptop Punk Records was formed by Grim Deeds in 2020 as an outlet for friends and underground punk artists to release singles and albums digitally, and to release a compilation series in the spirit of Lookout! Records and Fat Wreck Chords. Laptop Punk emphasizes DIY and encourages home recording projects, and also celebrates side-projects and one-offs from both obscure and well-known artists. Laptop Punk’s mission is to promote inspired songwriting from across the globe, and there are already great releases from international artists in the catalog. With new releases launching every month, the pace is set to continue strong into 2022 and a new compilation cd is on the way. Laptop Punk Records Compilation Volume 1 is now available and features 29 hits from a wide variety of artists.
