The Last Summer: A Punk Rock Movie Premiere

On August 27th, 2011, The Last Summer will premiere at the Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. 4400 Shepherdsville Road.

The film is a comedy about a group of punks who were friends through high school and college, and have decided to spend one last Summer together before “joining the real world”.

The soundtrack is composed of punk rock legends who have offered their music at no cost. The creators of the film spent all of the money they had for their budget on equipment and location, so the bands involved have offered their music through deals attained by the director, Jason Saint, via eMails and Facebooking. The bands on the soundtrack include The Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Big D And The Kids Table, Chaser, Old Man Markley, Stroke 9, Calabrese, Teenage Rehab, Up For Nothing, All Left Out (New Zealand), Left Alone, Unit Six, The Story Changes, The Loaded Nuns, We Are The Union, and many more. Also included will be a song by Kevin Seconds, which is exclusively written for the film.

The movie’s DVD is available for presale here and will be processed on August 27th, 2011. The premier will feature live music, pizza being served by punk rock pizza chain Spinellis, local roller derby team the Derby City Roller Girls, Little Heart Records, an autograph session with Ohio Valley Wrestling superstars, and over $1,000 worth of merchandise and offers in a 10-drawing raffle. The doors open at 6:00 and the movie begins at 7, followed immediately by the afterparty.
