The Punk Rock Museum Announces First Anniversary Celebrations

In celebration of The Punk Rock Museum‘s first anniversary, they are having a big show in their parking lot on March 31st. That will showcase local Vegas bands, Suburban Resistance, Sakura and Soldiers of Destruction who are joined by The Last Gang, Get Dead and The Vandals. Before the celebrations commence there will be two art shows, RefleXXXions that includes a zine workshop on the 3rd February by Shawna Kenney, author of I Was A Teenage Dominatrix and co-author of Live At The Safari Club: A History Of HarDCore Punk In The Nation’s Capital 1988-1998 and Imposters, and editor of the anthology Book Lovers: Sexy Stories from Under the Covers, and the art of Jeffrey Everett who has has created designs for such bands as Social Distortion, Flogging Molly, Foo Fighters, Jason Mraz, Flight Of The Conchords, Gaslight Anthem, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, The Bouncing Souls, New Found Glory and A Day to Remember.

There will also be an art and photography from Punk Rock & Paintbrushes, a unique art management company and an art show production creative force. They bring art to collectors and fans of art and music from all walks of life to share the creativity of these artists with all. Their art exhibits occur at music festivals and art galleries across the globe. They shine an artistic light on the other talents of musicians and athletes. The show highlights punk artists from the world of music and skateboarding with the primary objective to present an exhibit by punks for punks. This Punk Rock & Paintbrushes show will feature two of The Punk Rock Museum‘s founders: Lisa Brownlee and Vinnie Fiorello.

The Punk Rock Museum is the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to the history of the music, the culture and the absurdity of punk rock. Located in Las Vegas, it houses artifacts and memorabilia from across the world’s punk scene, such as handwritten lyrics, instruments, clothing, photos, flyers and artwork. Encompassing 12,000 square feet at 1422 Western Ave., between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown, the museum celebrates the genre’s substantial cultural impact over the last half-century.
