The Santa Barbara supergroup Versus The World made their post pandemic comeback with their recent single, Roadsick/Roadsick, which followed up musically on their last, more pop punk heavy album. With their upcoming single, Your Wedding And A Funeral, that is due out on the 31st March via SBÄM Records, their tendencies towards post and emo become very clear. The track is taken from their upcoming full length, The Bastards Live Forever, that consists of eleven songs featuring the band’s unique style of melodic post punk that elevates every member’s skill from their other projects, including Lagwagon’s Chris Flippin and Good Riddance’s Sean Sellers.

“Your wedding and a funeral” is a complex yet extremely melodic and rememberable song, most likely in the musical context of mid-western emo and post-punk. It is about lost love. This song is a kind of confession. An admission of guilt. It’s hard to look at something that’s broken and say out loud that you’re the reason for it.  It was really therapeutic to write it and it’s one of my favorite refrains on the record. There are 2 versions of this song and when I listen to the first version, I’m really excited about how it turned out.” (singer Donald Spence)
