Stole Your Rock N Roll - Spirit Of Disaster Records
“Deathtraps have the sound of any full throttle, no holds barred, punk rock’n’roll, played at break neck speed band your’e ever likely to hear. Hit the play button on this brand new release by the South Wales trio, and there is absolutely no other way to describe what blasts your ear drums into oblivion. Think Dwarves at there heaviest, think Motorhead at there dirtiest and your there!
With Veej on Vocal & Guitar, Matty on Drums and Fraser on Vocals & Bass This band have hit the scene with this their latest album since the 2018 release of “Gotta Get Some” and what a way to smash it out, an album that from the very first line, the very first earth shattering guitar riff, the punk rock drum beats that would make any punk drummer wish they’d practiced more, oh and the Bass well lets just say we are sure that even Lemmy would approve! has it all.
Songs that fill you with horror but in a good way, songs full of devils, nasty scuzzy types and all the hate you could possibly want in a full throttle punk rock’n’roll album.
First out of the gates of hell is “Lets Fall Out Of Love” a song that might have some people reaching for the stop/eject button, I’m pretty sure they are the type of people that the song “Bad Things” had in mind, but if your made of stronger stuff and like your music to reflect the fact that the world is actually a place that needs straight talking fast n loose in your face high velocity bands like Deathtrap then play play play!
There are so many shout outs that can be made about the songs in here, take “Bloodshots” how can you not get the Motorhead nod here, I’m sure there shouldn’t be any apologies for this either. Then you get the straight up front “Joan Jett” which musically hits all the right marks and right from the first few bar you sit awaiting the lady her self to start singing, lastly there is probably the best track on the album but only by a small margin “Backstabbing For Beginners” with its what can only be described as Backyard Babies isms, you can be very very sure though that all the above mentioned are in here for all the right reasons and its music played for themselves by themselves with no real care as to who may or may not be offended, simple awesome music that kicks all the right doors down.
To sum up this album is difficult but let’s try: imagine throwing your body & soul into the pits of hell, thrashing around for a while and then coming out the other end riding on the back of the devils very own horse!
