David Delinquent Releases “Scared To Spend” EP
Dundee’s David Delinquent (The Delinquents / David Delinquent & The IOU’s / Football, Beer & Punk Rock Podcast) has self released a brand new EP, Scared…
Local Warming - Thousand Island Records, Morning Wood Records, Bearded Punk Records, Melodic Punk Style Records, No Affiliation Records
The Netherlands based punk rock unit Sun-0-Bathers are set to release their upcoming debut EP, Local Warming, on the 16th March via a multi label release on Thousand Islands Records, Morning Wood Records, Bearded Punk Records and Melodic Punk Style Records, additionally No Affiliation Records will handle the US release in seven inch vinyl and CD formats later this summer. Sun-0-Bathers only formed last summer and Local Warming serves as an impressive warning shot of what to expect from the dutch quartet
The Local Warming EP opens with a gentle Intro that lulls you into a false sense of security before the words “right about now we know something’s about to happen” precedes the full tilt punk rock of Sunspray, this is followed by the brief frantic hardcore blast of Need Some More that kicks things into overdrive. Sun-0-Bathers keep their collective feet firmly on the gas as they blast through No Work, Jerk, The Legend Of Scott Radinsky and Kids Of The Sun before you hit the Outro, that eases you out of Local Warming with a stunning instrumental that I can’t help feel would have been better placed at the start of the EP.
With the Local Warming EP what you get is five tracks of raucous punk rock sandwiched between the gentle Intro and the stunning Outro, the whole EP is done and dusted in eleven minutes, but that’s more than enough time for Sun-0-Bathers to establish themselves with their blend of 90’s influenced melodic punk rock and melodic hardcore. Local Warming is a stunning mix of old school and new school approaches, and if you’re a fan of the likes of Zeke, Pennywise, Guttermouth and Night Birds then Sun-0-Bathers are a band you need to become acquainted with.
