David Delinquent Releases “Scared To Spend” EP
Dundee’s David Delinquent (The Delinquents / David Delinquent & The IOU’s / Football, Beer & Punk Rock Podcast) has self released a brand new EP, Scared…
Cole’s Take: New Brunswick, NJ is home to a lot of great orgcore bands, but also to some great meandering melodic stuff. Communipaw is one of those bands. Their self released album comes courtesy the band teaming up with music blog Sound As Language, and can be downloaded thanks to that partnership.
Bobby’s considerably more well thoughtout take: Singer/songwriter Brian Bond’s other musical outlet includes drummer Keith Carne, bassist Dave Esterman and guitarist Brian Kelly. By mixing their love of soaring, anthemic indie rock with a classic songwriting sensibility and a slice of alt-country, Communipaw has crafted a dynamic brand of indie-pop, and thus built a reputation for originality in their hometown scene. This recording morphed into a year long adventure that brought the band to eight different studio spaces and inspired eleven new songs, experimentation, revision, and reinvention along every step of the way.The resulting self-titled record illustrates at once a lush synthesis of the group’s diverse influences – from shoegaze to surf rock and everything in between – and a testament to the maturity of the band’s songwriting.
