Pre-orders for “Shapeshifters” will be announced shortly, the single will be the Bossmags first major release since the bands 2017 debut full length “Curio Cabinet“, which itself has just been re-released with four additional live bonus tracks.

In a staggering turn of events in what is sure to shock the world over, transdimensional reptilian overlords have been proven to be allegedly REAL, thanks to UK-based alternative punkers Bossmags, and in the process, putting an end to the mystery of why we are seemingly beset by ceaseless horror. The cover was blown off the nefarious millenia- spanning, world dominating operation when members of the band were astonished to discover one of the creatures skulking behind the bins of the local Wetherspoons, struggling with what appeared to be a malfunctioning human suit. Miraculously, aided by the element of surprise, the band successfully grappled the lizard being into submission. Fiction writer David Icke was reached for comment on the discovery: “Oh sh*t, they’re actually real?”. The conversation between the sinister saurian and the band while being held captive in Bossmags frontman Bobby Stickah’s basement, has been recorded for the world to hear in the brand new single ‘Shapeshifters‘ that is out on March 31st on all digital platforms.
The last thing heard from Bossmags since the band put out ‘Asthma Kid‘ under the radar in 2020, featuring on the Liverpool Migrant Solidarity Network’s Bandcamp exclusive Punk Without Borders fundraising compilation alongside Subhumans, Inner Terrestrials and fellow Warrington band Roughneck Riot. ‘Shapeshifters‘ is the product of an experimentation with influences in circus, techno and space, and the beginning of the new era of Bossmags, constantly evolving and moving into new territories with their punk rock roots to have you dancing, headbanging and guessing what’s coming next.
I’m very proud to say we really managed to catch our live lightning in a bottle with this track. It perfectly encapsulates the wild, carnivalesque energy of our madcap show and marks the first release with our core trumpet player Marcus Bishop to boot, who joined the band in September of 2019, but because of Covid we haven’t really been able to show off as much we’d have liked. It’s also great to have good friends of the band Professor Probert, himself a frequent live guest, from Liverpool’s balistic bonkers act Unstoppable Sweeties Show on glockenspiel and Bristol synth-punks Martyrial’s Hex Diesis on jaw harp featuring on the single. It’s a special release and we’ve got more where this came from, so buckle up. Pandemic or no, the Bossmags machine is switching into first gear. We may not gig for a while, but you’re getting new, quality music this year. Bobby Stickah
This July will mark the 5 years since the band performed live for the first time. Bossmags, otherwise known as and officially starting out as The Mighty Bossmags, had their first gig in July 2016 in a Warrington pub garden, a warm up for what would be their second gig a few days later, Lesz Feszt in Hungary. Since then, the band have worked hard, tearing up and down pubs, squats, venues and festivals all over Europe with their loud repertoire of weird tales, observations, masks and other gimmicks. You could possibly see Bossmags live as early as September, as the band are booked for UK festivals that for now are going ahead, subject to Covid 19 restrictions. Bossmags are one of the most unique punk rock bands you will see or hear in the UK DIY punk scene today, picking up the needle left by weird visionaries like Cardiacs and sewing their own zig zag with it, or will it be a swirl? Who knows. That’s the point.
