Conceived during lockdown in July last year, Delilah Bon (Lauren Tate / Hands Off Gretel) is a self-confessed brat-punk hip hop artist fusing driving bass, rapping and screaming with lyrics centred around female empowerment, Delilah has now unleashed her latest single and video ‘I Don’t Listen To You‘. Delilah had this to say about the single; “‘I Don’t Listen To You’ including hundreds of queens, is out NOW! I couldn’t love this video more! I wrote this song in 72 hrs as a little treat for you all before the album date drops. It blew up on tiktok so I ran with it and finished the track, and released it for International Womens Day! And if you’re wondering how this all happened… My messages were flooded with people asking me to release the full version of my lil tiktok song ‘I Don’t Listen To You’. A Tik Tok song I’d written over a backing track for a bit of fun that’s now had over 100 people duet it & nearly 50k views on my profile and over 60k views on another girls profile who made a dance it went crazy as I gained 3k followers in a freaking hour, my inbox filling with people asking me ‘WHERE IS THE SONG ON SPOTIFY?!’ !! So anyway I freaked out cos people wanted me to release it ASAP and I didn’t have the full track, I hardly even slept that night because I knew I had to make the track and make it FAST! So the next day I got rid of the backing track and created everything from scratch around my vocals, adding more verses and adding a crazy outro with metal guitars and banging 808s! It took me 72hrs to write, record and produce the entire thing and I’m so excited now that it’s out! I’ll be honest, I was stressed as hell and nearly gave up but I’m so glad I didn’t and I saw it through!! Thank you so much to everyone for your videos of the song!
