Brighton punks DITZ and Bristol labelmates Heavy Lungs have announced that they have come together in a spectacular Record Store Day soundclash, bringing both of their incendiary live BBC sessions out for public consumption for the first ever time since they were broadcast on Deb Grant & Tom Ravenscroft‘s BBC 6 Music New Music Fix show in 2023. DITZ x Heavy Lungs (Live At The BBC) will be available on pink and green splatter vinyl with an exclusive trading card in each vinyl, mixing a series of solid gold hits, huge cult favourites and a cover of IDLES‘ Danny Nedelko from the Nedelko fronted Heavy Lungs. Limited to 1000 copies and never to be repressed, the record will be available exclusively in stores on Record Store Day that take place on the 20th April.

“We loved recording the session with Deb and Tom, and also discovered some of our favourite bands through split releases, so when we got the chance to release one with our pals Heavy Lungs we couldn’t wait to make it happen.” (DITZ guitarist Anton Mockok)

“Heavy Lungs and DITZ have both played on BBC, S H R E D D I N G. You missed it? We are disappointed of course, but now you have a chance to redeem yourself by purchasing this RSD exclusive limited edition vinyl which features both of our sessions. Hi fi quality and the warmth of that wax sound is guaranteed. However what’s not guaranteed is you owning a copy if you sleep on this. Only 1000 LPs have been printed so act fast or live out the rest of your days drowning in regret. No pressure though xoxo” (Danny Nedelko)

DITZ hit the road for a French headline tour earlier this month, with many dates now sold out, and will be supporting IDLES on their forthcoming March 2024 EU tour dates. They released their critically acclaimed debut album The Great Regression on Alcopop! Records in 2022, following up with the standalone 2023 single, Riverstone. Heavy Lungs‘ debut album, All Gas No Brakes, is out now, the band kicked off 2024 by announcing a run of April UK headline tour dates, with tickets on sale now.
