NYC’s Dog Date have announced their new full length, Zinger, will be released on April 12th and is available for pre-order via Pop Wig Records, the album is a 26 minute blast of distortion and hooks that’s sure to please fans of all things loud, fast and a little left of the dial. Dog Date have been making a name for themselves with their scrappy fuzzed out punk and their pummeling live shows powered by a unique dual drummer attack. On Zinger, the five-piece have bottled the controlled chaos of their performances for all to experience. The record’s lead single, Nuff Said, is a rip-roaring introduction, bringing to mind classics like The Wipers and Mudhoney, the kinds of primally appealing bands that draw on punk, hardcore, garage and straight up unhinged rock & roll in equal measure.

Originally started as the at-home recording project of vocalist & guitarist Dylan KennedyDog Date has evolved into a full-fledged force to be reckoned with. Zinger follows the group’s 2021 debut, Child’s Play, and finds the band’s recently fleshed out live lineup of bassist Andy Stoffo, guitarist Malcolm Spraggs Hoyt and drummers Leo Didkovsky and Kristian Pitaccio making their first recorded appearance. Recorded by Matt Labozza and Morgan Miller, the album imagines an almost proto-punk version of the Smashing Pumpkins, with dimed out Big Muffs blasting over speedy, spiky primitive songs.
