Dylan Disaster And The Revelry are a melodic punk rock band with hints of Americana and just a touch of east coast hardcore. Dylan Disaster began writing and performing as a solo artist in 2013 while also playing in several punk bands such as Buried Cities, Knockin’ Bones and Nowherebound around Austin, TX and released his first solo album in 2015. In 2019 with the release of his sophomore album, Remission, Dylan brought out the full band The Revelry. The band endured a few lineup changes over the years but it wasn’t until the recording of Dylan’s third full length, All Roads, that the band felt complete and permanent. All Roads was recorded in Asbury Park, NJ with Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls) and is the first of Dylan’s albums to include The Revelry in the title. All Roads will be released in May, the album is a departure from Remission in a way that feels matured and intentional. Dylan Disaster And The Revelry have now dropped their latest single, Nothingness, that addresses everything turning to nothing regardless of our wants.
“This song is one of those songs that kind of just happened and then evolved. I had an idea for a vocal melody that I was playing around with at practice and my guitar player came up with a little lead that bridged two sections of the song. At first, it was going to be a simple straight forward acoustic track, but my drummer encouraged me to speed it up and play it loud, so we did. From there, my guitar player had a secondary riff that inspired my vocal melody for the outro of the song, and before we knew it, the song had evolved into what it is today. For a while I didn’t quite know what the song was about, but eventually I realized it was about fleeting moments in life and how everything turns to nothing eventually.” (Dylan Disaster)
