Fraught with the anxiety and disappointment that comes from looking desperately for the perfect lover while navigating through crisis without companionship, Te Busqué from Seattle’s Emi Pop is her search for the ‘Dream Guy’ that cannot be found, due to constantly seeking them. The disappointment that settles in after seeking Mr. Right drives Emi Pop‘s sad and poppy take on heartbreak and longing. Emi Pop infuses garage-punk with an infectiously vintage doo-wop backing vocal on “Te Busqué which translates as “I looked for you”.

Emi Pop‘s musical journey began in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico and her style is equally influenced by Latin pop as well as underground punk. Starting out as a vocalist and guitarist in Mely Y Los Poppers back in Puerto Rico followed by a stint as bassist in Los Pepiniyoz, Emi has now found a home in Seattle’s underground music scene, honing her skills as a guitarist for diverse Seattle acts such as Famous Lizards and most recently with horror punks 38 Coffin.
