Akron, OH’s En Garde was formed in November of 2011 by guitarist and vocalist Ross Horvath and drummer Andy Hendricks. At that time Hendricks was actively playing in longtime passion project Annabel and Horvath had been champing at the bit after spending almost a decade with A Voice Like Rhetoric. En Garde‘s two-piece minimalism was a new approach of writing for the pair, locking in together to produce tight angular foreground momentums and layered negative spaces allowed En Garde to create compositions that are engaging and interesting.
The duo have now released their new full length, Debts, that is now available via Count Your Lucky Stars Records. The follow up to the aptly named Debtors, Debts feels like the completion of the story arc. Full of boisterous drumming, discordant guitars, and energetic vocals that feel fresh, despite being the tracks being laid down in 2012. Recorded with Joe Reinhart at the famous Headroom in Philadelphia, PA, Debts reminds you of the best moments of Thrice, The Ghost and Cursive.
Debts is now available via digital platforms & Count Your Local Stars Records
