Lethbridge, Alberta garage punks Fist City are currently streaming their latest album, titled It’s 1983, Grow Up! on their bandcamp page. The album was released back in 2012 via Black Tent Press.
It’s 1983, Grow Up! is the sophomore full length for the band, and its most accomplished work to date. Singer Kier Griffiths recently told thequietus.com about the band’s approach to making music:
‘We like to make music that’s fun to dance and flail around to. It’s good to have something upbeat for that. We all have our tough times, but it’s fun to drench these sad whiney lyrics in this upbeat music, because it’s cathartic. If you have something you can bop your head to, it feels better than having sad droney music for your whiney life story, you know? Listen to the Four Tops, they’re heartbreaking.’
