Green Day Begins Work On New Album

In this week’s Kerrang! magazine, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said that the band has started work on the follow-up to last year’s 21st Century Breakdown; which is a much quicker turn around compared to the five year wait between American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown.

Armstrong said they used their downtime wisely during their European tour last October, spending their time off between arena shows in recording studios across the continent rather than sleep their days away in luxury hotels.

“We did some demos in Berlin, some in Stockholm, some just outside of Glasgow and some in Amsterdam. We wanted get [the songs] down in some early form.”
