Punkerton Records have announced the release of a special Halloween themed split 7″ vinyl featuring Long Island’s ska-punk powerhouse Half Dizzy and Detroit’s eccentric The Boy Detective. This spooky split combines the talents of ska legends with a dark, horror-inspired remix, perfect for setting the mood this Halloween season.
Half Dizzy contribute The Faceless, a spooky ska-punk anthem featuring the legendary Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers) and Jess Debellis (Skapossitory) as well as a special Destryur Remix of the track that will be released on the 15th October.
“The song began as a simple spooky ska idea back in 2022. It evolved into a gripping thriller about a fictional nameless government agency chasing the listener. With input from everyone in the band, we crafted some of our best work yet, especially with Jess Debellis’s incredible organ contribution. The addition of Vic Ruggiero’s vocals, who also inspired the organ part with his song ‘Policeman’ was a true honor. To cap it off, we teamed up with Destryur for a haunting remix that captures the gritty horror energy perfectly.” (singer Dan Marchelewski)
The Boy Detective deliver For The Record, I’m Not A Cannibal Anymore that features J. Navarro (The Suicide Machines / Break Anchor / J. Navarro & The Traitors) and Eric Abbey (J. Navarro & The Traitors). The track will be released on October 4th and is about reclaiming what you love, even after painful memories threaten to taint it, whether it’s music, a movie or a tattoo.
