“At the time of writing it I was listening a lot to one of my all time favourite albums “At Action Park” by Shellac. I’m a big fan of Steve Albini but also skating and two of us in the band skate on a regular basis although Ed is definitely better than me. We were actually going to see Shellac in June in London and I had my LP pre-ordered when Steve sadly passed away in May… I emailed him once last year and sent my admiration and he kindly responded and told me to keep going with our music. What a legend. RIP. In terms of the meaning behind the lyrics for “Shut The Door”, I wanted to capture the essence of modern day argument which seems to be intensifying across the world in many countries. It’s about a heated discussion between a person refusing to move on with the times, who shows a lack of empathy or compassion, a bigot, misogynist and racist… and someone who is progressive, tolerant and would like to see everyone get along.”
