Pressure Set Announce Self Titled Debut Album & Share “Binge Watch On Mute” Video

What could be more punk rock than starting a band over matching Rocket From The Crypt tattoos? But not just any band, a supergroup featuring members of The Bollweevils, Bear Away, SPELLS, The Methadones, Sludgeworth and Violets. The seed for Pressure Set was first planted in 2024 when drummer Rob Burleson toured with Denver’s SPELLS and met guitarist Dom Brining of UK’s Bear Away. One random tattoo discovery later and there was no turning back. Daryl Wilson (The Bollweevils) became involved, marking his first side project since Landos 45. Wilson’s Chicago connections resulted in bassist Simon Lamb (The Methadones / Sludgeworth / Violets) completing the line up.

Eventually a fully-fledged album came to fruition, full of short, sharp blasts of high-energy punk rock with inspiration ranging from Gang of Four, Wipers and Hot Snakes, to the MC5, while giving a wink and nod to Descendents, Naked Raygun, and Samiam, as well as newer bands such as Meat Wave and Idles. Pressure Set’s self-titled debut will be released October 2nd through Dr. Strange Records. Although the core of the band will always be the four punk vets, the fluid nature of Pressure Set and its revolving door of friends and family is just how the band likes it.
