Taking over Manchester’s Lion’s Den Bar on the 3rd December, King Kurt will be concluding their current 40th anniversary tour with a bang. Playing songs from across their 40 year-long career, the band will be offering fun and frolics aplenty, with DJ sets, a late night bar and silly prizes for the worst Christmas jumpers worn on the night. The band will also be joined by Manchester’s own Standing In For Joe for a covers set of late ’70s and early ’80s punk, encompassing everything from The Clash to Stiff Little Fingers, and Sonny Ericsson, a new killer act who recently remixed King Kurt‘s 1982 debut single, Zulu Beat

After forming over 40 years ago, and marking 35 years since their infamous gig at The Hacienda, which won them the title of the only band to be banned from the cult club after causing a ruckus with snakebite, flour bombs and gunk, King Kurt have gained notoriety with their wild live shows, themed gigs and on-stage food fights. Having recently embarked on a 40th Anniversary Tour to commemorate four decades of Zulu Beat, frontman Smeg and his merry band are now readying themselves for the night of festivities in Manchester this December. Tickets are available now, and can be purchased in-person from Rockers England or Clampdown Records in Manchester or online.
