King Prawn have released their new single, Take Me Back via Cherry Red Records, the track follows on from January’s Propaganda. Fierce, tightly wound and lyrically charged, both tracks mark the beginning of a bold new chapter for one of the most influential bands to emerge from Britain’s alternative underground. This release sees King Prawn return to their philosophical punk roots with a further two singles scheduled for release and a brand-new album in the works, this is music that hits harder, thinks deeper and speaks directly to the chaos of the modern world.

“Take Me Back is a high velocity blast back to the band’s heavier sounding roots. The song title however, is an ironic reference to the sentiment of those who reminisce a bygone age through rose-tinted glasses. The lyrics explore the ‘Retrospective Trap’ where bitterness and stagnation meets nostalgia, underpinning right wing populism from Brexit and the rise of Reform in the UK to MAGA in the US.”
