Moonraker Drop New Single “Umbrage”

Moonraker are on absolute tear this year. With each of their released singles gaining more momentum than the previous one, the band’s latest single, Umbrage, is on the verge of exploding. Examining the concepts of “Forgive and Forget” and “Revenge is a dish best served cold,” this Los Angeles trio deliver a powerful song that lets the listener know it’s not required to forgive and forget if someone wrongs you. Umbrage is fast, melodic, and provocative, giving off a message that is definitely thought-provoking. Moonraker comes into this release with an already established grassroots fanbase, a growing music catalog of hits, and a strong reputation within the independent punk scene. These results have created additional momentum around the band’s new chapter, including an upcoming full-length called Me And The Bells releasing this Fall via Punkerton Records. 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for Moonraker.  

“‘Umbrage’ is kinda based on a couple different figures of speech and a conversation I had with a friend of mine. I was telling him about a falling out I had with someone and explaining the details and he said, “Oh wow, that sucks. So….have you forgiven them?” I was completely dumbfounded by this. “What?! No! Of course not! Did you hear the things I just told you? Why would I do that?! No!” was my response.’Forgive and forget.’ I think we as a society push this one a little too hard that a lot of times, people who do shitty things get mad at you when you don’t let them slide. You’re aloud to not forgive people when they’re awful.’Revenge is a dish best served cold.’ I was thinking about this in the context of like a reverse ‘Hot Ones’-type show. Like, a game show where you can have increasingly colder and colder revenge. And the host would be like, “This one’s so cold, no one would want to eat it with you. It’s not worth it. Everyone who’s ever attempted this competition has failed. It’s just too cold!” And I’d just sit back and laugh while patting my Mustard Belt (a trophy for competitive eating).I fully realize that none of this is quote-unquote, “healthy thinking”, but what are you gonna do?
