The No Values Festival is less than a month away, this epic event seems too good to be true, and it is coming soon to The Pomona Fairplex which is conveniently located a mere ten miles from my home! The lineup is simply incredible with (The Original) Misfits, Social Distortion, Iggy Pop, Bad Religion, FEAR, Suicidal Tendencies, The Exploited, The Adicts, L7, The Dickies and so many more….but I am sure you get the picture by now. Without question, this is a must-see event for any true fan of punk rock, but tickets are going fast, and according to the event’s website, there aren’t many left, so if you want to be at this historical event, you need to move quickly and get your tickets here before they are gone. Goldenvoice has been presenting quality punk rock shows since the early 1980s, so you know it will be well organized, and properly presented.

No Values

This festival is particularly meaningful to me. I remember fondly when punk rock was “our little secret,” shows were hard to come by, and were often shut down by the police. The days of running from the riot squad while getting tear-gassed and billy-clubbed at shows are over now, and punk rock has grown from being a misunderstood underground phenomenon to a relevant, and enormously popular part of modern culture. Many of the bands that I enjoyed so much at tiny clubs, backyard shows and warehouses in the early days are now established mainstays of the genre, and are able to draw thousands of fans to events such as this one. While I still prefer small shows, it is good to see so many of the bands and their members finally get the respect they have always deserved, and it is also good to see that some of these artists are able to make a living doing what they love and do so well.

No Values Festival

We here at The Punk Site hope to bring you all the details from that day in keeping with the high-quality writing and photography we’re known for. I have submitted my request for me and my ever-present assistant Cathy Dye to get on the media list, but we have not yet received an answer. Should we be fortunate enough to gain entry as part of the press contingency, I will do my utmost to provide you with quality images and in-depth reporting of this astounding punk rock pilgrimage.
