Paper + Plastick Announces “Story/Song” Graphic Novel and Music Hybrid

Paper + Plastick Records has announced the latest addition to their comic book endeavors.  The new venture is a joint comic book and music venture called “Story/Song.”  Each issue of the project will include a new recording of an artist’s older work alongside a 12-page graphic novel, which will be available at the Paper + Plastick webstore.
 
The first installation will feature Tony Sly with Matt Anderson writing the script.  Anderson describes the project:

“the reverse of compiling a soundtrack for a movie… In this case, you have the songs that complement the story… We already have the soundtrack in the song, and are now trying to create a story that complements it. The stories will not be a literal adaptation of the song’s lyrics but will use the lyrics as a foundation to build something entirely new.”

The first installment is expected to drop in May 2012.
