Off!On July 26th, 2024, So-Cal’s punk rock supergroup OFF! performed their final show before going on an indefinite hiatus.

The band originally formed in late 2009 by Circle Jerks/Black Flag singer Keith Morris and Burning Brides’ frontman Dimitri Coats. Throughout their fifteen years as a band, they released 3 albums: 2012’s Off!, 2014’s Wasted Years and 2022’s Free LSD; alongside a collection of EPs and two live albums.

The punk rock quarter had their swan song performance at the Belasco in downtown Los Angeles, a fitting place for the LA band to call it a day. They were joined by up and coming punk act Surfbort and will now be taking time to focus on various other projects. Morris will be hitting the road with the legendary Circle Jerks while Coats will be heavy promoting his new film – also titled Free LSD.

The movie will have it’s local premiere at the Nuart Theatre in Santa Monica on Aug. 2, followed by numerous screenings across Southern California, all with live Q&As with Coats and Morris. The film was written and directed by Coats and stars Morris in the leading role where he plays an elderly sex shop owner who falls for a younger customer, but struggles with performance. Seeking help from a strange doctor, he discovers an experimental drug leading to renewed vitality and a journey into a parallel universe where he’s a rock star.

On top of Morris and actor Jack Black, Free LSD also features tons of cameos from the punk rock world including David Yow from the Jesus Lizard, Davey Havok from AFI, Chris D. from the Flesh Eaters, Don Bolles from the Germs, late Dead Kennedys drummer DH Peligro, Zander Schloss from the Circle Jerks and Angelo Moore from Fishbone.

It will be released to major streamers on Aug. 9, with a Blu-ray release planned for later this year.
