Polyfillas Reveal “An Assortment Of Punk Originals” On Debut Album

Sunderland, UK’s Polyfillas have today released their debut album, An Assortment of Punk Originals, that is now available through streaming platforms, and on CD and vinyl via Elastic Stage and Bandcamp. From the riot grrrl-esque opener I’m Bored/I’m a Whore to the keyboard-swirling groove of closing track Life Sucks, the album takes in everything from punky-reggae of Rude Boys of England, to the faux-folk of Repeat the Defeat and the dance-rock of Period Pad/I’m Glad, along with plenty of feisty, take-no-prisoners rock ‘n’ roll in between. But because the whole album is underpinned by Polyfillas’ pop sensibilities, not to mention their love of authentic homegrown punk rock, and somehow all these careening styles manage to cohere. 

An Assortment of Punk Originals is expected to be just the first in a long line of major statements by the emerging Sunderland quartet. But in the meantime, the band look forward to bringing their chaotic and energetic live show back to small venues in the north-east, and hopefully beyond, including upcoming appearances at Hartlepool’s Vixen Bar on the 5th September, Stockton On Tees’ Amped Up on the 11th September, and Gateshead’s Downcast Studios on the 18th September.
