Ahead of this year’s
Rebellion Festival we are asking a selection of the band’s who are appearing about what we can expect, and for their advice on surviving the four day festival. In the second of
The Punk Site‘s
Rebellion Festival previews
Vulpynes have provided their insights into the festival where they will making their debut appearance. Don’t let looks deceive you, for a two piece band
Vulpynes make a lot of noise, expect a fusion of heavy and melodic hooks, snarling vocals and a visceral rhythm section that have garnered them a wide fanbase in both Ireland and abroad. The
Rebellion Festival will be taking place at
Blackpool Winter Gardens between the 2nd and 5th August 2018, you can purchase tickets and view the full line up for this years festival

Is this your first experience of the Rebellion Festival or have you played before?
It’s our first Rebellion so we are absolutely buzzing with excitement and honoured to have the opportunity to play.
What can we look forward to from your set?
We pack a lot of songs into half an hour and it gets more frantic as it goes on. We have a new song that we have been honing especially for Rebellion called The Hunt, which is an anti-fox hunting song. So we are looking forward to playing that!
What makes the Rebellion Festival special for you?
M: I was raised in a punk household and my parents are coming to the festival with me, to see some of the bands they grew up listening to – which is amazing.
K: It was a goal of ours to play Rebellion from the start! So we’re just excited to get the opportunity to play alongside some amazing bands on this year’s line-up.
Will you have the chance to catch anyone else whilst you’re there and is there anyone else on the bill you’d recommend people go and see?
IDLEs, Buzzcocks, Paranoid Visions, The Lee Harveys, Johnny and the Mental Breakdowns and the Menstrual Cramps. To be honest we could list another 20 bands here, the lineup is just too good!
If you could pick one band to appear at the Rebellion Festival who would it be?
Siouxsie and the Banshees!
Do you have a favourite memory from a previous Rebellion Festival?
This is our first Rebellion, we are ready!
Are you currently on tour if so where else are you playing this year?
We aren’t on tour yet, but we are over and back to the UK a lot over the next year which we’re delighted about. You can follow our events on Facebook here to keep up to date as there is always a lot on!
What can we look forward to from you in the next twelve months?
We are working on new music. We got caught in a whirlwind of gigs over the last year, so we are focusing on getting some new music together and planning longer tours for 2019.
Do you have any festival survival tips?
Work out a timetable of bands you want to see and potential clashes, drink loads of water and eat decent food. We don’t sound very rock n roll here at all haha.
Is there anything else in Blackpool you’d recommend people experience or avoid whilst they’re in the town?
We’ve never been to Blackpool believe it or not, so we are looking for some tips off everyone else!
Finally when and where are you appearing?
We are playing the Introducing stage on Thursday at 5.45 to 6.15!
Thanks for taking the time to speak to us, we’ll see you down the front
