Tim Wright, best known as the bass player in Cleveland’s groundbreaking art punk band Pere Ubu, has died. No details other than it occurred on August 4th have been released.
Wright was a founding member of Pere Ubu in 1975, but then left the band in 1978 to move to New York and join Arto Lindsay’s ‘No Wave’ group DNA, who have been cited as major influences to many later punk bands including Sonic Youth.
Up until his death, Wright was writing songs and working as a musician and tour technician. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
