Rumkicks are a trailblazing all-female punk band hailing from Seoul, South Korea. Formed in 2018 by guitarist and vocalist Jung Yeawon, the group has become known for its high-energy performances, sharp-edged sound, and fearless social commentary. Their music blends old school Punk with Pop Punk influences with a distinctly Korean sensibility, a style they’ve dubbed ‘Post-Joseon Punk’. The band’s lyrics confront issues such as gender discrimination, mental health, and online harassment, as well as celebrating being in a punk rock band and challenging the conservatism of their home country.
Rumkicks have now released their sophomore album, Hit A Nerve, worldwide via SBÄM Records and South Korea’s Steel Face Records. With their unapologetic energy and commitment to challenging societal norms, Rumkicks stands as a powerful voice in the global punk scene.
