Russ Rankin (Good Riddance/Only Crime Frontman) Announces Solo Debut

aper + Plastick Records has signed on Russ Rankin (Good Riddance/Only Crime Frontman) to their growing family. Rankin currently plans to release his debut solo effort, Farewell Catalonia, on May 29, 2012.
The album was recorded early this year at Buzzbomb Sound Labs (Orange, CA) with engineer Paul Miner. Rankin explained the idea behind the solo album:
“Recording a solo album is completely different than recording with a band. I learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses both as a songwriter and a guitar player. Watching these songs, which had gestated purely from myself with no collaboration, develop and grow has been an incredible experience.”
