Spanish Love Songs have today released their new single, Welcome To Hell, via streaming platforms. The track is a self-proclaimed bar-band rock song which is a benchmark for the new sounds they have embraced on their forthcoming full-length, Future Nausea, that is produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) and Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties) and is set for release on 6th November via Pure Noise Records.
“I wanted a song that could thematically relieve the pressure of the album. There’s a narrow line to walk when writing a song that is even vaguely political, and I always want to make sure we don’t fall into finger-wagging. We’re telling stories about people fighting their way through life, not prescribing any absolute sort of answer. The song starts with someone like me and is an attack on cynicism. Then it moves on to the changes being forced down our throats by techno-oligarchs in the name of profit, and wraps up questioning whether all of us are settling for a worse world in the name of convenience, or worse, apathy. Chris (Walla) really pushed us out of our production comfort zones by telling us to be confident and clear in our intentions. We really rode that energy into finding the best version of the band that we’ve ever had.” (vocalist Dylan Slocum)
