Art-punk band Stepmom have today released the music video for their single, Helga Pataki, that explores what happens when you redirect the desire and energy you place outward onto others back into the relationship you’re building with yourself and your art. The video continues a run of award-winning visual work directed and produced by Stepmom‘s lead creative, Lindsey Cox, whose distinct filmmaking has become an integral part of the band’s artistic identity.
Stepmom create conscious escapism through distinctive music and immersive visual storytelling. Their world is inhabited by whimsical creatures, high-femme costumes and stage props, and surreal visuals bleeding from oozing pink CRT TVs. Every performance is an invitation to become an active participant in shifting our collective consciousness by stepping beyond the current systems into something stranger, softer, and more connected.
