Manchester Punk Festival Issues 40th Name Your Price Compilation
Manchester Punk Festival have released the 40th volume of their name your price compilation series via Bandcamp ahead of this year’s…
Following acclaim for last year’s debut album Chaos, and a recent tour with new wave legends Bow Wow Wow, Cambridgeshire garage-punks The Baby Seals recently released the fierce Tamoo Trance and are now sharing a perfectly chaotic new video for the accompanying double A-Side of the 7″ single, I Will Panic If I Want To Shirley, just in time for the festive frenzy we all know and love / feel heaps of anxiety about. Alongside the video, the track is available to download from Bandcamp, and is also available on a special 7″ double A-side single which also features Tamoo Trance.
Inspired by an MOT-related incident experienced by drummer Amy, the track rages against how ridiculous it is that we have to be worrying about things like MOTs at a time when we’re witnessing a 1.5 degree increase of global temperature and live streamed genocides, and seeing the eradication of protest rights, abortion rights, trans rights, and human rights generally. It’s a reassurance that it’s actually ok if you want to have a panic every so often: fucking go for it, why shouldn’t we?!
