Austin, TX’s The Ghost Wolves have launched an appeal in the wake of the the recent flooding in Texas, the appeal will support K9 search volunteers from three organisations, TEXSAR, GULFSAR & The United Cajun Navy. You can donate via The Ghost Wolves, Venmo or directly to TEXSAR.
“As many of you have heard, on July 4th our region of Central Texas was devastated by sudden, deadly flash flooding. Just down the road from our animal sanctuary in Kerr County, a normally peaceful stretch of the Guadalupe River became a torrent — a 30–50 ft wall of water swept through in the early morning hours, destroying everything in its path. So far, 132 lives have been confirmed lost, including children, and nearly 100 people are still missing along the river. Families are enduring unimaginable heartbreak. In response, Ghost Wolves and Hacienda Loba Blanca Animal Sanctuary have launched an urgent fundraising campaign to support the all‑volunteer search and rescue teams working tirelessly right now to find and recover victims. Being dog lovers ourselves, we’ve chosen to focus our support on three incredible groups using K9 units to search the riverbanks: TEXSAR, GULFSAR & The United Cajun Navy. These dogs and their handlers are out there every day, bringing hope and closure to families. We want to help them keep going. 100% of the funds we raise will go directly to these three organizations, split evenly between them. We’ve pledged the next two months of proceeds from our Patreon page to help kick this off — and we’re asking for your help to reach our goal of $10,000 by July 31st. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us, with our neighbors, and with these brave volunteers and their amazing dogs. Together, we can make a real difference in the middle of this tragedy.”
