London, UK based outfit The Others Are Dead, Steve (T.O.A.D,S for short, comma intentional) are best described as a melting pot of grunge, punk, surf and noise. The band have now revealed the video for Gen Z, the bands fifth single, a kick-ass, anthemic guitar-fuelled power punch, with a hypnotic trance like bass riff. A satirical banger in which a millennial with a fetish for the end of the world goads the next generation to take over their protagonist status so they can drink coffee and chill their way toward irrelevance. Gen Z follows a bunch of quality, diverse singles: Get In The Shark, Whatever You Wanna Call It, Cats Can Fly and Ditches.
The band started out as a socially distanced songwriting project, before meeting face-to-face in a brief respite between lockdowns. Since the end of restrictions the band have been ripping it up across the sweaty, sticky-floored London scene since late 2021. The Others Are Dead, Steve will be playing two London shows next month, The Dublin Castle on the 7th October and at The Underbelly, Gigi’s Bar on the 14th October, and the band will also be opening for the legendary punk band Eater at Camden’s Powerhaus on the 25th March 2023.
