The Yorkshire born, Manchester based, self described shouty, feminist punk outfit The Strangerz have today released their third single, Hit The Ground, that was loosely Inspired by vocalist Martha’s urge to never leave her bed and sleep as close to the floor as possible. Recorded at Salford University by former student & upcoming producer Lewis Dean, Hit The Ground was written last Summer and swiftly became a fan favourite, with the track frequently opening their shows.
The Strangerz blend hook-laden guitar lines with viscous drums and vocals that together deliver a genre breaking loose, raw and ragged sound. Whilst he band are definitely leftfield, there is also a distinct groove that accompanies the hard-hitting sometimes nonsensical lyrics.
The band will be headlining at Manchester’s Castle Hostel on the 19th March to celebrate the single’s release and will also be supporting Shonen Knife at Manchester’s Night & Day Cafe on the 28th April. The Strangerz are also confirmed to appear at Garlic Bread Club on the 3rd June, alongside Riskee & The Ridicule & Piss Kitti, with further dates will be confirmed throughout the Spring & Summer
