Chicago’s Triple Fast Action have today released a massive self-titled collection of 37 rare and unreleased tracks, including many songs previously unheard by anybody who wasn’t there to see them live in the early 90’s. This collection is now available via Forge Again Records as a 32 song triple gatefold triple album (with 5 bonus digital tracks) and 37 song double CD. Twenty of these tracks were recorded by the band in their practice space in late 1994 while recording demos for their debut album, with the rest of the album compiled from various studio sessions and radio appearances.

“It was the Spring of 1993, when Wes and I decided to start something new with Kevin and Ronnie, after the split of Rights Of The Accused (our old band). Wes had maybe 5 or 6 songs written already. Writing seemed to come easy for him, and he never let up. Where songs like ‘Baby’s Got A Brand New Satellite,’ ‘Hopeless,’ or ‘Stepping’ would have been regular setlist tunes for some bands, they were throw-away songs for us — because Wes just couldn’t stop writing. So many of our songs would be recorded as a reference, then forgotten about just due to the sheer volume of material he was pumping out. Putting this collection together was a lot of fun as there were songs we didn’t even remember recording. And (don’t tell Justin from Forge Again Records) there are probably 7 or 8 additional songs that are done, except for vocals. Who knows — maybe one day we’ll get together and finish them. Maybe. For now, The Action Association (our fan club, haha) will have to settle for this compilation of mostly unheard tunes.” (drummer Brian St. Clair)
