Video: Greenland Is Melting – Fox On The Run

It’s that time of year again; where you sit back, relax, visit with friends and family and enjoy the simple things of life. Christmas time is good for that, once you get past the rushed shopping experience, chaotic family reunions and spastic snow storms you’re able to take a step back and revere the good old times. Sometimes, the “good old times” means sitting around singing classic, traditional songs with friends – I mean, who hasn’t sung Auld Lang Syne during at least one New Years celebration?

Well, Gainesville’s folk-punkers Greenland Is Melting is going a step further and recently hit the studio to record a three song EP titled Folk Songs From Florida: Volume 1. The EP, which features all traditional songs, will be released for free from Paper + Plastick Records in four weeks. But before that, the band recorded live performances of the songs on their front porch.

For the next three weeks, we will be teaming up with DyingScene.com to unveil their special acoustic performances by Greenland Is Melting and will release one new video every Tuesday. The first clip of the series sees the band playing Fox On The Run and can be seen below.

Don’t forget that the band has just announced plans to hit the road with this January and February; the dates can also be seen below. The band last released Our Hearts are Gold, Our Grass is Blue in September 2009.
