Many people aspire to have a career in the arts and achieve fame and success, but there are a handful of obstacles they might encounter along the way, such as doubt or the familial or societal pressure to follow another career path. Denver-based pop-punk band Years Down discusses this with their latest track, Famous. The energetic instrumentation and memorable melodies highlight the band’s prominent pop-punk and punk rock influences, and the lyrical theme of chasing your dreams and carving out your own path will resonate with many listeners.

“On its face the track seems pretty self explanatory, if you were to go by the chorus alone it feels like it’s exclusively written about desperately desiring to be famous. However when you dig a little deeper into the verses it’s clearly about more than just craving fame. There’s elements of discomfort and distaste with the traditional life that everyone is expected to follow, self doubt, as well as a hunger to prove myself to those around me. I’ve always struggled with having confidence in my writing and singing and a lot of those emotions are on display in this song.” (vocalist Griffin Mather)
