Madison Turner Shares New Single & Video “Had Enough”
Richmond, VA's Madison Turner has shared her brand new single and video, Had Enough, that is now available through streaming…
Siglo Split - Freetime Boyz Inc.
The third release from Florida’s “boutique faux punk label” Freetime Boyz Inc. is the ‘Siglo Split‘ split EP that features two outfits from the sunshine state, Flores Robadas and Crimes of Fashion. The EP is now available digitally via Bandcamp and can also be pre-ordered on an extremely limited run hand numbered red cassette tape. As this will be my first experience of either band this is a voyage into the unknown with two new bands, which for me is the whole point of split singles and comps, so it’s achieved it’s initial objective
First ups is the semi reclusive Flores Robadas who deliver the first three tracks on the ‘Siglo Split‘, the first impression is one of a trashier Shonen Knife, hints of Buzzcocks are present along with a hefty dose of Ramones, as the lyrics are in Spanish I have no idea about the subject matter, but some things are universal and the gloriously raw trashy punk rock soundtrack they deliver on their half of the split is one of them. The flip side of the ‘Siglo Split‘ features Crimes Of Fashion, the same lo-fi trashy approach is present, but this has a less melodic style and carries primitive punk rhythms that have a touch of rock ‘n roll in their DNA.
What Freetime Boyz Inc. have delivered on their third release is another dose of grass roots punk rock, the ‘Siglo Split‘ is a showcase for two of Florida’s, or to be precise Miami’s, underground punk bands. If you like your punk rock primitive, raw and infectious, and short, then this is a split EP that you need to investigative. The Flores Robadas / Crimes of Fashion ‘Siglo Split‘ was released earlier this month and can be streamed and purchased via Bandcamp here.
