Over It

Silverstrand - Lobster Records

I was starting to worry if this album would ever actually see the light of day. After months of delays as a result of everything going wrong that could possibly go wrong (including a hurricane that wiped out the hard drive with all the mastered songs), Over It have finally release their newest full length, Silverstrand, and it is easy to say that it is probably the most anticipated release of 2005; and for good reason too.

Since 1998, Over It have been building fans and gaining popularity with each of their fantastic releases. In 2002, they received even more recognition with their debut Lobster Records release, Timing Is Everything. And now with Silverstrand, they are ready to blow any skeptics away.

Their silky smooth pop-punk sound is unlike any in the market today. Peter Munters’ vocals flow perfectly and get stuck in your brain as they are the complete opposite of any voice you’ve ever heard before. The band’s melodic and heart-pounding tunes make for an easy and energetic listen. You can listen to it over and over again, straight from the forty second introduction to the nail bitingPartner In Crime, without getting bored or annoyed while still getting excited during each and every listen. There hasn’t been such a solid release like this for quite some time.

Silverstrand will easily find its way into numerous top ten lists at the end of the year, and they definitely deserve it. Apart from being some of the nicest guys you will ever meet, they are committed to the band to the end and make solid, catchy, entertaining music that comes straight from the heart. Hell, look to the top right band of this review and you’ll see a picture of them.

In all honesty, there’s not much you can say about this album. Just pick it up, for it is one of the best releases of the year and there’s no way you’ll regret it.
